About Thousand Island Park
Founded in 1875, this private summer community is made up of more than 325 cottages and summer homes. Methodist ministers established it as a place for physical and spiritual renewal. Swami Vivekananda, who introduced yoga to North America, spent a great deal of time there. At the very top of New York state on the border with Canada, it is off the beaten path.
Today's summer residents spend much of their time relaxing, boating, sunning, swimming, skiing, sipping a cocktail or finding another way to enjoy the water. It is a small community with a tiny hotel (and pub), ice cream parlor, grocery store, library, tennis courts, and boat houses lining the shore between swimming spots. This community is blessedly a secret.

Why This Spot
This is a secret we want to share with our families and close friends.
Dave's mother spent time as a child in Thousand Island Park with relatives. She later returned with his father on their honeymoon, where they stayed in the family cottage. In 1984, Dave's parents built their own home near that same cottage, and have spent every possible minute there since--including the winter.
Thousand Island Park was one of Dave and JJ's first dates ("Hey, I'm 7 hours north of you in NYC but in from LA, want to come up?") We spend time there with our families and close friends every summer.
The Wedding
JJ and Dave will be married in the same gazebo that Dave's brother was married in, and his parent's renewed their vows in. The service will be officiated by Reverend Leslie Reimer, the Director of Spiritual Life at Sheldon Calvary Camp.
The service will commence at ___pm on the afternoon of August 18, 2012.
